AROS 3D – Consequence
Each piece of system / equipment unit /
object identified on a site has an associated consequence should a
release occur. The magnitude of the consequence of a release for each
system / equipment unit / object describes the extent of damage to the
site and / or the harm to personnel on site.
The magnitude of the consequences of a
release are dependent upon:
- The driving force behind the release (i.e. how fast the material
is released).
- The duration of the release (i.e. how long the release lasts).
- The type of material that is released (i.e. toxic, flammable, gas,
liquid).
- The systems in place to prevent, control or mitigate the
consequences (i.e. release detection systems, fire fighting measures
etc.).
- The impact on the site (equipment / structure) and / or harm to
personnel on site (i.e. escalation of the consequences, personnel
injury / fatality).
In AROS 3D the consequences of a release
and its ultimate impact is described over multiple input screens.
Examples of the input data required is shown in the screen shots
below.
Inventory.
Jet fire.
Personnel distribution.
Personnel distribution chart by area.
AROS 3D Software Features
Dynamically add new, update or remove
various consequence impact data including:
- system / equipment parameters (pressure, mass, volume etc.);
- safety systems effectiveness (isolation, emergency
de-pressurisation, ignition probability etc.);
- personnel distribution by area and their time on site;
- asphyxiating, toxic, flammable, explosive material
characteristics;
- escalation, personnel escaping and area, personnel evacuating the
site rule-sets;
AROS 3D undertakes checks on key data to
ensure that the input data is within specified limits and consistent
with other input data.
